Focus E15 (Housing Campaign London) Banner started on the streets in solidarity with the people of Bolivia and Evo Morales during the CIA ochestrated coup in 2019 and the reistance to it. Any where where people stand together for food shelter education health, a world we can live in and not to be exploited by an increasingly viscous capitalism needs to be defended, be it a country, an occupation or street we hold.

In Newham London where the Focus E15 housing campaign is based there are 2000 children under 5 that are homeless and a glance at their website will show the needless suffering of people in this area. As a campaign emphasis is on the local fight for housing rights but there is practical understanding of the necessity of solidarity with the struggle of the working class all over the world and any where gains are made like Cuba, Bolivia and Venezuela these need to be defended from attack and this symbolic gesture of solidarity is sent from the streets of Newham London from those fighting for housing.

Evo Morales, is Bolivia’s first indigenous president, As is the way with real lasting change Morales is a key figure in a wide movement, the Movement Toward Socialism with specific aims to democratise the economy for the people and that is what external powers like the USA objected to. The coup in Bolivia has resulted in ongoing violence against the working class people of Bolivia and escalating racist violence toward the indigenous people.

The Bolivian Socialist leader Evo Morales said that his “sin” was to nationalize natural resources and distribute wealth effectively listening to the people and loosening the grip of mostly white owners of industry and agriculture, and empowering the majority, the the mostly indigenous workers and /campesinos.

‘The country, which has been pilloried by the US and Britain in the UN climate talks for demanding steep carbon emission cuts, will establish 11 new rights for nature. They include: the right to life and to exist; the right to continue vital cycles and processes free from human alteration; the right to pure water and clean air; the right to balance; the right not to be polluted; and the right to not have cellular structure modified or genetically altered.
Controversially, it will also enshrine the right of nature “to not be affected by mega-infrastructure and development projects that affect the balance of ecosystems and the local inhabitant communities.’ Guardian News Paper
